My Pilates Journey

I discovered Pilates in 1999 and was captivated from my first class. As a competitive swimmer in my youth and one with knee problems, I felt it was important to find a method of exercise which maintained my physical fitness without putting impact on my joints. Pilates was perfect! I was able to incorporate Pilates principles into my everyday life. After ten years of being a dedicated Pilates student, I decided to do my matwork teacher qualification with The Pilates Foundation in Edinburgh. I found I love to help other people get the very most from their bodies.

Having worked for 14 years in the computer games industry, I can fully relate to the 'sitting at a workstation' culture. It was great to help so many of my previous colleagues improve their postures and increase their concentration levels.

Alongside Pilates, I have been a student of Yoga for many years. In April 2011 I gained my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certification, recognised by The Yoga Alliance.

Experience & Style

I am an enthusiastic teacher and my classes and 1 : 1's offer an energetic, dynamic and client-centered approach, which motivates my students and addresses their individual needs. My approach is hands on with the aim that people leave my classes feel nurtured and revitalized. I'm driven by the challenge of meeting new people and helping them achieve whatever their goals maybe. I aim to make every Pilates programme varied, making sessions fun and enjoyable.

I also teach mat classes, pregnancy and post-natal Pilates for Bea Alexander Pilates at venues across Edinburgh. For more information

A recent trip to Asia and Australia where I got to experience other yoga and Pilates classes and go to both the Byron Spirit Festival and Bali Spirit Festival has left me inspired. I would like to share these new found ideas with my students through my teaching approach.

I also am an illustrator, and work on commissions. I specialise in architecture, so would be interested to hear from you if you would like a drawing of your house or a building that has meaning to you. To see some of my work look at the 'Illustration' section of my art website...
